Cover Songs | Bobby McGee | Janis Joplin | Jam Session
So to continue this story after my buddy came over and we jammed out an old song we wrote I got a bug up you know where and went out and purchased a cheap pa system. I figured what the hell, if I am going to jam again I may as well at least sound good right?
This time though, another buddy of mine and consequently my old drummer from my youth saw a video clip I posted on Instagram and was like I see you got your self a drummer.
Which we hadn’t I was just using a software drum machine. So long story short he came over and since we just start playing again we figured we would do a cover song. My daughter sings so I asked to come jam with us.
Its funny how things work, because of this video my daughter landed a lead vocal spot in a local band. More on that story at another time though.
For now check out Bobby McGee Covered by Janis Joplin and of course us 🙂
What I find interesting is when I was a kid I didn’t want to play cover songs I was just interested in writing music. Fast forward 20 or so years and I enjoy playing cover songs.
It’s definitely a good way to get your skills back if you have played in a long time.
